Sting, insect: A sting from a stinging insect, such as a bee, hornet, yellow jacket, or wasp, that can trigger allergic reactions. These reactions vary greatly in severity. Avoidance and prompt treatment are essential. In selected cases, allergy injection therapy is highly effective.
