Definition of Osteolytic lesionOsteolytic lesion: A "punched-out" area of severe bone loss. Osteolytic lesions are seen in metastatic lung and breast cancer and multiple myeloma and may cause bone pain, pathologic fractures (bones broken by disease), and hypercalcemia (high blood calcium).
