Definition of Myocarditis, viralMyocarditis, viral: Inflammation of the muscles in the walls of the heart due to a viral infection. Among the offenders are dozen of different common viruses, including the adenovirus, coxsackievirus, poliovirus, echoviruses, and influenza viruses.
