Definition of Tuberculosis, dormantTuberculosis, dormant: The presence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection without a positive chest X-ray. Treatment is not mandatory for dormant tuberculosis (TB), as with active TB, but it is a good idea because the bacterium could become active later.
