Definition of American Journal of Public Health

American Journal of Public Health: A monthly journal that publishes original research articles that are peer-reviewed in both "general and specialized areas of the science, art, and practice of public health. These areas include: environment, maternal and child health, health promotion, epidemiology, administration, occupational health, education, international health, statistics...."

Founded in 1911, the Journal is published by the American Public Health Association (APHA), which is the largest public health association in the world, representing (as of the year 2000) 50,000 members.

Issues of the Journal feature a theme of vital current interest. Recent examples are: Women's Health, Children's Health, HIV/AIDS, Smoking, Environmental and Occupational Health, Aging and Health, and Health Risks and Mortality.

ENABLEX is a prescription medicine used in adults to treat the following symptoms due to a condition called overactive bladder:

  • · having a strong need to go to the bathroom right away (also called "urgency")
  • · leaks or wetting accidents (also called "urinary incontinence")
  • · having to go to the bathroom too often (also called "urinary frequency")

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

You should not take once-daily ENABLEX if you have certain types of stomach problems, glaucoma, or have trouble emptying your bladder. Side effects of ENABLEX include blurred vision, and more commonly dry mouth, constipation, indigestion, and abdominal pain. Use caution when doing certain activities until you know how ENABLEX affects you.
