Definition of Sexually transmitted disease in men

Sexually transmitted diseases in men: Men can contract all of the venereal diseases, but may have no symptoms, or have different symptoms than women do. For example, most men who have chlamydia have no symptoms at all, but can easily pass the infection on to their sexual partners. The only sure protection against STDs is sexual abstinence. For sexually active men, the use of non- penetrative sex practices ("safe sex"), condoms, dental dams, and spermicide with Nonoxynol-9 offer some protection.

Also referred to as sexually transmitted infections in men, STDs in men, and STI's in men.
